Project Manager
OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for initiating, managing, and reporting on a wide variety of projects and assignments for the Residential Sound Insulation Program based at O'Hare International Airport.
JOB COMPLEXITY/SCOPE:
Supports special project needs for the entire team including the client, the Program Director, senior managers, and support staff. The program involves several types of construction contracts and thousands of homes requiring a large team of professionals working together. The Project Manager – Program Management will assist the construction group, contract administration group, the customer service group, quality assurance group and the program director.
SUPERVISION:
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Acts independently to manage projects and provide reporting to managers and client staff. Is a team player that can work in groups, take direction from multiple people, and provide direction to colleagues, as needed.

JOB DUTIES:
The duties may include the following and other duties as assigned.
Program Management
Assist the Program Director with reviewing and/or developing reports, statistics, and memos for a wide range of Program-related topics.
Assist the Program Director & CDA with developing RSIP policies and other special assignments.
Prepare and submit tracking and projection reports for unique construction or work services contracts.
Assist with the development and update of project schedules in Primavera P6 or other software.
Assist with the development of staffing budget hour projections.
Assist with quality control checking of reports, letters and various types of documents and provides suggested edits before they are submitted or published.
Manage special projects that may arise during the program and follows through to completion.
Contract Administration Support
Coordinate with A/E’s to receive line-item quantities for construction cost estimates and bid forms.
Assist the Contract Administration Group to develop DBE Participation Goals (memo and calculation worksheets
Prepare Solicitation Preparation agendas and lead Solicitation Preparation meetings
Assist in the review of contract solicitation documents and provide suggested edits.
Attend client meetings and present project schedule updates.
Construction Management Support
Assist the Construction Group to estimate line-item quantities and develop construction cost estimates.
Assist the Construction Group with special project log updates
Customer Service Support
Prepare and submit tracking and projection reports for special projects
Coordinate public communications through the client’s website and assist with the development of content updates.
Assist the Customer Service Group with special project log updates
Assist the Customer Service and Construction Group with homeowner eligibility determinations
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
Ability to use a computer, the Internet, word processing software, spreadsheet software, and email software.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job duties in an office setting require the following:
Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the office;
The ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects;
Good hand-eye coordination; the ability to reach with hands and arms; and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp;
Close visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment, prepare and review data and figures, and view a computer monitor;
The ability to talk and hear;
The ability to work in an upper level of a high-rise office building (Cotter Chicago office and some client offices);
The ability to handle temperature changes consistent with inside environmental conditions; and
Mental abilities including remembering, reasoning, concentrating to remain on task, reading, problem solving, managing concurrent tasks, and the ability to understand and follow directions.
Job duties that require visiting a construction work site require the following:
Normal color vision;
The ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc., using feet and legs and/or hands and arms;
The ability to move across uneven surfaces and the ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling on uneven or slippery surfaces;
The ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch;
The ability to stand for sustained periods of time;
The ability to work in confined spaces and narrow passageways;
The ability to work in high places; and
The ability to handle outside environmental conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, loud noise levels, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and oils.
