Hydraulic/Drainage Engineer

We are looking for a Hydraulic/Drainage Engineer who has experience working with government entities. This is a full-time position with benefits included (3 weeks paid time off; Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance; LTD; STD; Life Insurance; 401K).


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers in the design of roadway transportation and civil projects.

  • Prepare Phase I drainage studies and Phase II engineering plans and specifications.

  • Design, develop, and create plans in a timely matter.

  • Prepare plans and designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, and drawings.

  • Performs tasks requiring applications of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Use design software to accurately render and communicate designs; plans and designs other necessary and related systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulics.

  • Standard design of civil project work.

  • Serve as a team member on multi-disciplined projects.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong background in drainage design, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, and stormwater management

  • Proficiency with common drainage design software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSTORM, Hydraflow, SUDA, EPA-SWMM, Hydraulic Toolbox, SMS/SRH-2D)

  • Ability to work as a part of a multi-discipline teams of engineers

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines while working on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Knowledge of design software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, Excel and Word.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
