Congress Line Track Improvements

CTA’s Congress Line Improvement Phase I project represents the first of a larger four-phase effort to completely reconstruct the Congress Branch of the Blue Line. Phase I includes a major track renewal, renovation of Racine Station and construction of a new substation at Morgan Street.

2IM is providing on-site field support for the replacement of wayside equipment cables throughout the project limit and coordinating and providing field support to carefully inspect all wayside equipment before removal for track work construction. 2IM also provides guidance for all related signal designs.

2IM is also responsible for the Existing Drainage Plan and drainage improvements for the track replacement including pipe underdrain system and connection to the existing IDOT drainage system on I-290. This involves calculating the flow capacity of existing outlets.
