O'Hare Terminal 3, Concourse L Expansion

Chicago Department of Aviation
American Airlines

Concourse L at Terminal 3 is expanding as part of O’Hare International Airport’s $10 billion modernization program. Phase I of this project consists of a five-gate addition to American Airline’s Concourse L. Phase II involves a two story (13,600+ sq ft) expansion along the north face of the recent L-Stinger Project (previously completed in Phase I).

2IM Group is responsible for Phase I and Phase II services. 2IM developed the grading plan for the airplane aprons and designed the airside storm sewer system to accommodate ultimate build conditions. The airside drainage included coordination with the south detention pond development. 2IM Group also provided the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and proper erosion control measures, and secured permits with the Chicago Department of Water Management (CDWM) for the airside development.

2IM Group is providing design services and construction documents for portions of the Taxilane and Ramp Area for the Interim Gate configuration serving ORD Stinger - Phase 2. They are being designed to FAA Aircraft Design Group (AVD) V standards.
