Residential Sound Insulation Program

Chicago Department of Aviation

The Chicago Department of Aviation has been tasked with combating noise pollution at O’Hare and Midway International Airports through the installation and improvements of residential structures within the designated noise contours along runways adjacent to the airports.

2IM has several staff members working on the client relations which includes managing projects from initial contact with homeowners through design and installation of noise reducing windows and doors. The staff of 2IM are bilingual in Spanish-English and Polish-English to ensure that projects can be completed with minimal misunderstandings or miscommunication.


2IM is also responsible for the estimating and scheduling for the program to assist with the Manager of Contract Administration. The role includes compiling information for FOIA’s, claims, or liens. Also prepares final compliance packages for the Department of Procurement Services and oversees closeout procedures of completed projects.


Certain windows did not meet specification. The manufacturer and contractor failed to meet warranty. 2IM Group worked with the Chicago Department of Aviation to track and determine which locations may need updated windows
