Van Buren Street Station & Millennium Station

A new platform at Metra’s Van Buren Station and Millennium Station are being designed and tracks south of Balbo Drive to Millennium Station on the Metra Electric Line are being reconfigured as part of this project.

2IM Group is responsible for quantifying and the placement of impedance bonds throughout the project limit, including identifying that those that are damaged, defective, or worn. Additional services include identifying which impedance bonds will be used for negative return current back to the substation. The impedance bonds control the current and limit the power losses; therefore, they are a fundamental part of the track circuit.

2IM Group is also responsible for identifying existing drainage and utilities, designing and developing the proposed drainage plans, specifications, and cost estimates for these drainage improvements.
